Samsung Galaxy S II white edition launching on August 15

Samsung’s Android 2.3-toting, dual core processor-packing Samsung Galaxy S2  has been given a natty white re-spray, as Sammy bids to add a few extra sales to the five million or so the smartphone powerhouse has racked up already.

The hitherto unannounced Samsung Galaxy S2 white edition of the phone is listed now on Clove with a due date of August 15th. The placeholder for the 16GB edition of the handset (there’s no photo to see right now) is priced £492 when bought SIM free and sans contract. Other than its all-white look, the smartie is unchanged from the original Samsung Galaxy S2. That means it packs the same 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display that’s become a hallmark of high-end Galaxy branded kits and a brawny 1.2GHz dual core processor to ensure multi-tasking is a smooth as a mixtape of Yacht Rock jams.
Elsewhere, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is home to a rear-facing eight-megapixel camera with an LED flash and 1080p high definition video recording at 30 frames per second, plus a secondary two-megapixel snapper at the front for video calls.
Rounding things off is the latest 2.3 Gingerbread version of Android out of the box (customised with Samsung’s TouchWiz social networking focussed user interface, natch) and the pre-installed Swype app for easier touchscreen typing.
